Today is a travel day for all attendees traveling from outside Europe and the UK, for a chance to rest and recovery from your overnight trip.
Upon arrival, please Axiom will be providing airport transportation to the JW Marriott. Pick up details and instructions can be found in your personalized Trip Plans itinerary.
*Check-in time is 3:00pm but you may store your luggage and freshen up in the spa locker area. Please note we understand everyone is arriving early on an overnight but most rooms will not be ready until check-in time. The hotel will be provided the flight manifest and will do their best with early check-ins.
Please note that a hold will be placed on your credit card for incidentals at the time of check-in. The unused amount will be released back to your credit card within 7 days of checking out!
Please note while in Istanbul, UBER is readily available, however Lyft is not available.
For Uber it is not uncommon for the driver to accept a ride and then to be messaged that there is a surcharge due to distance or time, etc. If this happens feel free to request driver to cancel the ride and request a new ride. This is an attempt to be paid additional for the ride and is not standard. Also remember unlike the US where Uber is predetermined pricing, in Istanbul, the Uber app connects you with a yellow taxi and the meter amount is typed in by the driver at the end of the ride. Our biggest recommendation is at the end of the ride wait until the driver finishes the ride and types in the amount to ensure it matches the meter plus an additional 30 Turish LIR for an Uber fee. We found most drivers rounded up which then meant we did not tip, a few drivers were honest and typed in the exact and then we did tip 10% through the Uber app.

7:30 PM - Axiom Leadership Group Dine-Arounds - Tonight you will enjoy a group dinner with your co-workers at a selected restaurant around Istanbul.

9:00am - 11:30am: Networking Meeting: Required for all employees in attendance. We recommend eating breakfast in the hotel restaurant (included in your stay) around 8:00 AM and we will start the meeting at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be held in the Karay meeting room.
Guests are free for the morning.
3:00 PM - 5:30 PM - Axiom Bosphorus Boat Cruise. We will meet in the lobby at 2:40pm to walk a quick 10 minutes to Karakoy Pier for boat pickup. Drinks will be provided on the boat.
Tonight you will have your evening free once we return from the group activity. The JW location is perfect for dining as there are plenty of options right outside the door! Everything from Italian to local Turkish cuisine.

Enjoy some time for some rest and relaxation at the hotel spa, start your day off with a workout in the fitness center, or venture out to sight see and explore.
The JW is just steps away a variety of chic and bohemian cafes, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries within walking distance. Attendees can easily access Galata Bridge, Galata Tower, Bosphorus, and Historical Peninsula. Click here for the recommended local attractions close to the hotel! The concierge at JW Marriott is there to provide additional maps and insight, don't be afraid to use their expertise!
For those up for an adventure you can take a quick walk to Karakoy Pier (where we got the boat last night) and take one of the public ferries over to the Asian side of Istanbul. There is less history on this side and is more popular for a food experience and nightlife.
Or for those who love shopping head to Istiklal street which is a walking street that has brand name shopping, cafes and crowds. Many will start at Taksim Square and head down Istiklal Street.
Finally for those who are looking to explore more cultural experiences, head up the hill to Galata Tower. This is a defense fortress that was built back in 1348 and has great views of the city!
7:00pm-10:00pm - Axiom Circle of Excellence Awards Dinner. Please meet in the lobby at 6:45pm for departure to restaurant by bus.
